Dia de los Muertos, also known as Day of the Dead, began as an Aztec ritual that has been practiced for over 3,000 years to celebrate the dead.
Today, in rural Mexico, ancestors visit the graves of their loved ones to decorate the stones with marigolds and candles. The place bottles of tequila on the adults graves and eat the deceased favorite foods.

DPS Director Jerry Hafen's Retirement

The Director of Nevada's Department of Public Safety ended his 35 years of service to the great state December 31, 2010. On February 25, 2011 he was supported by The US Marshall Chris Hoye,  Sheriff Gillepse, the DEA's office, Department of Defense, Chiefs of the DPS, family and friends in celebrating his milestones and achievements while serving the state of Nevada. From his early years of under cover work to creating the Highway Patrols K-9 unit and catching over 5.5 million dollars worth of illegal narcotics in 2010. It is safe to say Jerry will missed from the Department.

Happy Retirement Director Jerry Hafen!
