Dia de los Muertos, also known as Day of the Dead, began as an Aztec ritual that has been practiced for over 3,000 years to celebrate the dead.
Today, in rural Mexico, ancestors visit the graves of their loved ones to decorate the stones with marigolds and candles. The place bottles of tequila on the adults graves and eat the deceased favorite foods.
